Our Projects And Initiatives

The Burleigh Street Community Development Corporation (BSCDC) is currently involved in five major projects:

  • The Community Enterprise Center--a two-phase construction project that has resulted in space for new local businesses as well as a community meeting room.

  • Vision Sherman Park--a community-wide strategic planning process that resulted in a written document called "The Neighborhood Manifesto, which defines who we are and who we want to be in Sherman Park. It will help guide the future development of the greater Sherman Park area.

  • Burleigh Main Street--a commercial district revitalization project that is part of the Milwaukee Main Street project. We are "The Mosaic on Burleigh"!

  • Burleigh Means Business--a separate commercial revitalization project  aimed at promoting the Burleigh Street business district that includes development of a commercial-wide website with interactive elements to bring together current and past neighborhood residents. See the past and be part of our future.

  • The Real Estate Development Fund -- a project to provide financial incentives to property owners, including facade grants and marketing assistance.
